Company

NestAI is Europe’s fastest-growing physical AI lab. We build open, sovereign, and reliable autonomous systems and AI-enabled command capabilities for real-world operations — environments where reliability isn’t optional.

Our work spans defence, security, and other mission-critical domains where systems must earn trust through performance, not promises. At the core of what we build is an open, modular, and interoperable AI command foundation that integrates data from multiple sources — from UAV sensors and edge devices to situational intelligence platforms — and turns it into decision support and operational capability.

Rooted in Nordic engineering heritage, we focus on openness, reliability, and systems that earn trust through performance. We work with intent, iterate fast, and build technology that protects what matters most.

Role Description

We are looking for an AI Engineer — or experts in specific subdomains — to join our team full-time in Tampere or Helsinki.

In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning systems that interact with the physical world. You’ll work closely with our multidisciplinary teams — including embedded, cloud, and hardware engineers — to turn cutting-edge research into real, high-performance systems.

You will be responsible for developing algorithms, training and optimizing models, building scalable data pipelines, and integrating AI solutions into production environments.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Designing, training, evaluating, and deploying AI/ML models for real-world applications.
  • Developing and maintaining end-to-end data and model pipelines.
  • Collaborating with embedded and cloud engineers to integrate models into edge or cloud systems.
  • Experimenting with new architectures, techniques, and datasets to improve performance and reliability.
  • Applying modern MLOps and DevOps practices for continuous model delivery and observability.
  • Conducting technical analyses, prototyping, and reporting results.
  • Working closely with other engineers and researchers in agile teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minumun 5 years of relevant experience, strong skills in machine learning theory and deep learning model development.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Understanding of data processing pipelines, model deployment, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD, and Linux-based environments.
  • Familiarity with modern computation or edge environments (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure, SLURM, NVIDIA Jetson).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across domains and disciplines.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
  • Computer vision, perception, or robotics.
  • Reinforcement learning or control systems.
  • MLOps, data engineering, or distributed training.
  • Real-time inference and optimization on embedded or hardware-constrained systems

Why join NestAI

At NestAI, you’ll build meaningful, real-world technology as part of a world-class team of engineers, scientists, and experienced professionals. You’ll work on systems where reliability genuinely matters, contribute to Europe’s security and resilience, and solve problems that demand depth, trust, and craftsmanship.

If you want to build with purpose — and with leading experts in the field — you’ve come to the right place.
